摘要
Service life of a tubular mold for continuous casting of steel is determined by its distortion at the meniscus and its resistance to mechanical wear of the inner surface. High-phosphorus deoxidized copper (DHP) has been used widely in tubular molds. DHP has a problem of distortion during brief operation. To solve this problem, Kobe Steel has developed the new KFC mold. High-grade steels have been able to be cast continuously by the adoption of electromagnetic stirring. In this mold stirring, high strength, low electrical conductivity, high thermal conductivity and high recrystallization temperature are required for tubular molds. Kobe Steel has developed two new molds, KLF116 and KLF1, and high-performance plating for this stirring process.
