摘要
Modern control equipment and methods combined with new sensors and process modification can play an important part in detecting and minimizing hidden losses in recovery furnace operation. Hidden losses potentially worth millions of dollars annually occur through poor preparation of black liquor and incorrect control of furnace chemistry in respect to its effects on chemical and steam production, and formation of corrosive deposits. Controllable losses are most typical in overloaded furnaces but can occur in any furnace where the sensor base and operating and control techniques are not properly supported.
