This Division of Section VIII of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code covers the minimum safety requirements applicable to the construction, design, fabrication and certification of pressure vessels which are used to operate at either internal or external pressures greater than 15 psig. This pressure may be obtained from an external source or by the application of heat from a direct or indirect source, or any combination thereof. These rules provide an alternative to the minimum construction requirements for the design, fabrication, inspection and certification of pressure vessels within the scope of Division 1.
