Zinc reclaimed tungsten carbide/cobalt powders are finding wider use and new applications in the cemented carbide industry. Production strategies range from using reclaimed powders as the principal component in grade powder to using them only as extenders. There are differences between using reclaimed and virgin powders that are important to the production of sound sintered parts. Carbon balancing, distribution of grain size and composition control present special considerations. 4 Refs.
