A study is made of the motion of a conducting Shvedov-Bingham plastic under the action of a pressure gradient in an MHD channel of rectangular cross section. A characteristic feature of the motion of the plastic is the presence of a quasisolid zone, the size of which varies with time under conditions of nonstationary motion. This is a boundary problem in which the boundary is moving.
