A reconfiguration search approach in distribution network based on reliability of system and feeder loss is presented. An objective function both to maximize the reliability and to minimize the loss of distribution network considering is set up. The optimal method of the minimizing both the average service unavailability index and power loss is described. The improved genetic algorithm is proposed to eliminate infeasible result. Initial population forming based on original network and adding avoidance operation to self-adapting genetic algorithm is put forward. Test results on RBTS Bus 4 distribution network are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the whole algorithm.
