The reactions of fusion (14-Mev) neutrons with lithium are important in fusion reactor blankets. Measurements and calculations of angular neutron flux spectra for a 14-Mev neutron source in a 1-m-diam lithium sphere have been carried out at the Karlsruhe Nuclear Research Center. Measurements of the fast neutron scalar flux-density spectrum in a large cylinder of lithium irradiated with 14-Mev neutrons were compared with Monte Carlo calculations using group cross sections from the DLC-37 (EPR) library.
