A laser-diode end-pumped Nd:YAG laser was developed, and a home-made laser-diode array was used as the CW pump source. The laser-diode wavelength is 0.808μm. The laser medium is a Nd:YAG rod of length 5mm and diameter 5mm. The output laser wavelength is 1.06μm. Using CCD camera and image processing system, the laser spot were recorded and analyzed, and the TEM00 mode was obtained. The highest CW laser output power obtained is 76.4mW and when the pump power entering into the resonator is 225mW. The optical-to-optical efficiency is 33.9%, and the electrical-to-optical slope efficiency is 9.1%.
