The author shows that because of the prognostic program management, the EDWLWEISS system's working-set is of a different nature to that of classic systems, although it is possible to define an equivalent classic working-set. Statistical evaluations on a simulated EDELWEISS system have shown that the EDELWEISS working-set has a life of about 10**4 mu s (or 10 to 100 times better than conventional working-sets). The law of distributions of the working-set's useful chi life is such that the gain over a classic working-set is on the order of n/n//0, where n is the size of the program and n//0 the size of the alloted memory space (both counted in numbers of pages, for example).
