This paper is concerned with the use of rubber hose in automobiles where they are employed for transportation of liquids and gases for various sub-systems, like brakes, cooling systems, heating, air pressure, etc. Detailed data are presented which characterize hoses used in various European cars. Development trends in this field are indicated (use of reinforced polymers).
