Digital realization of electronic systems has become possible in view of the reliable low-cost digital integrated circuits. A fully digital realization of an automatic radar range tracking system is described. This system operates on binary quantized radar video and provides the target range and radial velocity information in digital form. Details of the system realized for typical values of transmitter pulse width and pulse repetition frequency of a tracking radar and its performance in the presence of white Gaussian noise are given.
