Diamond-tooled controlled demolition is now a universally-used, everyday technique. But an obsolete 22 m (72 ft) high reinforced concrete chimney can pose special problems, especially where the work-site is a secure establishment in an exposed coastal location. The author reports on a recent Holemasters project at The Verne Prison, Portland, Dorset, UK.
