The use of flat cable provides flexibility in packaging design and offers performance benefits when applied to the interconnection of digital circuits. The performance advantages a flat cable design can offer with respect to characteristic impedance, propagation delay, attenuation and crosstalk are noted. Measured performance data of a particular flat cable system is presented as a typical example of how flat cable compares to conventional wiring techniques.
