Providing heating and cooling to the passenger terminal auxiliary buildings of an airport of the size of Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport located in Grapevine, Tex, posed challenges in selection and design of the mechanical systems. The analysis of the problem and selection of the central utility plant concept discussed engendered solutions which may be useful to designers of large airports and district heating and cooling plants.
