This paper describes the electron optical design of an electron gun for 110 degree 29-mm-neck flat-square color tubes. Improved focus is obtained by partial cancellation of spherical aberration through a new prefocusing design, and improved static convergence performance is achieved by oblique incidence of the outer beams entering the main lens.
