In the case of metal-oxide anodes with working elements in the form of horizontally arranged titanium rods uniformly coated with an active layer of a mixture of ruthenium and titanium oxides, an equation is obtained which describes the current distribution over the surface of the anode elements. The dependence of the current density on the magnitude of the central angle of the rod element resembles the well-known Gauss curves. For the existing process of application of an active coating by layer-by-layer smearing of solutions on both sides of the rod an equation is obtained for the ratio between the number of coating layers on the side facing the cathode and the opposite side which ensures minimal application and losses of ruthenium.
