Hygienic characteristics of working conditions are outlined, and the relationship of occupational factors to production processes, available mining machines, climatic and geographic situation of cuts, depth of cuts, geologic conditions, and health-promoting measures is shown. A range of such measures are described and their effectiveness is assessed.
