The pseudo-harmonics method, used to calculate the perturbed flux, makes it possible to overcome the mathematical and numerical difficulties encountered by the harmonics method in treating the multigroup problem. The pseudo-harmonics method uses the eigenfunctions of the absorption and leakage operators for each group of energy. The perturbed flux is reconstructed with coefficients constituting solutions of a linear system and dependent on perturbation.
