摘要
The effect of a high-powered laser impulse on a solid target containing a high density of heavy hydrogen atoms (deuterium or tritium) is to form a high-temperature but short-lived plasma. This property should allow production of energy when laser efficiency has been improved, and a thermonuclear chain reaction can be obtained in this way.
