EXPAND SUPERVISORY FUNCTION TO INCLUDE DIAGNOSTICS.

Parameters provided by modern turbine supervisory instrumentation (TSI) still include, but are not limited to, rotor absolute motion, casing expansion, differential expansion, rotational speed, and eccentricity. Significant advances in sensor technology, however, are helping to expand the role of TSI from a purely monitoring function to various diagnostic functions. This has come about through improvements in instrument accuracy and reliability, as well as the ability to manipulate data faster and more efficiently through information processing.
