Self-Extinguishing Popypropylene.

The demand for polymers with better flame resistance has been steadily increasing in recent years, and is expected to become even greater in the near future. This trend is explained by the fact that in many countries, including Italy, new and updated guidelines are shortly expected to be issued for the ignition and combustion requirements that must be met by plastics used in numerous sectors: domestic electric appliances, cars, electronic components, etc. This article reviews some new types of flame-resistant polypropylenes which contain halogens and offer greater possibilities of application and improved safety.
