Tru-test is a computer controlled non-invasive intermediate method for testing safety valves. The system allows a safety valve spindle to be lifted hydraulically. Once the force required to lift the disc of the valve away from the seat is known, and the effective seal area is calculated, the equivalent pressure value at which the disc lifts away from the seat can be obtained. Tru-test can be used without having to dismount valves or shut system pressure down.
