A method is proposed for determining the critical anisotropy angle range in which laminate pipes with a given structure and stress state should not be used. The method consists in calculating the activation energy of the laminate and comparing it with the analogous value for resin and glass. It is found that, under an internal load there exists an anisotropy angle below which the activation energy of the laminate is less than that of resin, and that in this case the weakest strength element of the pipe is the interphase boundary and the boundary layer.
