Electricity Supply Industry in Pakistan: Present Status and Future Development.

摘要：

The electricity supply industry plays an important part in the economic development of Pakistan. The installed power level has increased from 113 Mw in 1947 to 2532 Mw in 1974/75. In spite of this steep rise the annual power supply per capita at about 140 kWh is one of the lowest in the world. In order to meet the increasing demand for electricity in the future it is necessary to further the construction of nuclear plants due to the lack of conventional fuels and also to develop hydroelectric and thermal power plants. Pertinent data are presented.
