摘要
In the analysis of total iron, the wavelength integral was applied to the equation given by H. J. Beattie and R. M. Brissey by assuming uniform intensity distribution for the exciting primary x-rays, and a correction equation which should eliminate interelement effects was derived. By applying this equation to powder samples in the range of 50 to 70%, an accuracy of 0. 35% was obtained. The intensity/content relationship for SiO//2 was expressed by a simple quadratic curve. Al//2O//3 and MgO were affected by TiO//2 owing to the difference in mineralogy. Analytical problems for oxygen were studied, and an accuracy of 0. 79% was obtained in the range of 28 to 36%. The fusion technique was employed to be compared with briquetted powder technique. A correction equation was obtained with the same method as for the powder method regarding the analysis of total iron. Even after diluting iron ore with flux, the absorption effect by CaO and TiO//2 was found, and an accuracy of 0. 3% was obtained. In light element analysis, it was found that analytical problems caused by mineralogical composition and inhomogeneity were removed except for low concentration ranges.
