NEW MOBILE TRANSMITTER/RECEIVER.

This article follows the development of a new dash mounted AM VHF mobile radio telephone and describes the various design approaches which were considered and subsequently adopted. The new approach adopted in the mechanical design allows considerable cost reduction to be achieved while the use of novel circuit techniques gives a greatly improved performance. The result is a small, compact, elegantly styled unit, which can easily be adapted from a single channel low-power equipment to a twelve channel high power equipment with two way data signalling. It can be used for single or double frequency simplex working and covers the frequency range from 68-174MHz.
