摘要
Saving raw material and energy is of great importance in the pulp and paper industry in Japan where there are serious shortages of wood and petroleum resources. DIP (deinked pulp) meets these shortages and is a major raw material for newsprint production in Japan today. The Kushiro mill of Jujo Paper Co. , Ltd. has been successfully producing DIP from old newspapers since 1979 and its use in newsprint furnish has reached up to 50% without sacrificing any newsprint quality. As a result considerable energy and cost savings were achieved in newsprint production in the mill.
