摘要
In mid-1994 the facilities for manufacturing assembled camshafts at Press and Stanzwerk AG (Presto) in Liechtenstein go into operation. Camshafts assembled from several parts are more cost-efficient to produce and compared with conventional products permit a weight saving of approx. 40%. They can be flexibly adopted to changed requirements of engine control and perform additional control tasks. By targeted selection of differently alloyed materials for the constituent parts the service properties of the camshaft can be influenced and improved. The assembled camshaft will be used in series production for the first lime at Ford Motor Company's Cleveland works in the V6 modular engine.
