Thermoset and thermoplastics wastes can be subjected to separation, pulverization and recycling methods to convert them into usable products. Sink and float methods and electrodynamic method are applied for the separation of different thermoplastics from municipal wastes. Thermoset scraps can be converted into powder of 200 mesh size and then can be used as a filler to the virgin thermosets like, urea-formaldehyde. The hydrolysis technique has been adopted successfully to convert flexible and rigid polyurethane foams into its building materials. Polyvinyl chloride has been recovered as a filled polymer or as a pure resin. Thermal cracking treatment reduces plastic wastes into components which have universal value as fuel.
