Research on concrete structures, and concrete as a material, is essential in order to meet the quality requirements of building practice, now and in the future. In the Netherlands fundamental research is mainly carried out at the universities of Delft and Eindhoven. These universities obtain certain financial means from the state in order to carry out the so-called ″conditional research″ as well as from the Dutch National Science Foundation and from the concrete industry. This article discusses a selection of research projects at Delft.
