The paper briefly describes Public Roads Administration as a producer and user of maps and related data. Some data analysis systems are mentioned and briefly explained. The author focuses on data analysis system mapping and surveying as strategic tools for road administration and construction. The requirements of long-range programs and the organizations to deal with new techniques and equipment are also examined.
