摘要
In this report of a cooperative investigation, the health endangering materials present in foundries, specifically those occurring as dust, smoke, gases, vapors, or radioactive substances, are reviewed. Emphasis is on quartz-containing dust. The number of cases of silicosis and their relative frequency according to location of the work place in the foundry, results of dust measurements, and methods of preventing the hazardous conditions are discussed.
