Considerations on the Qualitative Homogenizing Capacity of Blending Bed Systems.

For the homogenization and/or blending of bulk materials many sectors of industry use stockpiling systems for which various operating methods and types of equipment have been developed. Blending beds, i. e. , the stockpiles used for these purposes, with scraper-type reclaiming machines have acquired major importance in this sphere. Four different systems are compared in this article, with the aid of simplified assumptions as to their homogenizing capacity, taking into considerations such important matters as compensation of long-term variations or the effect of precipitation (rain, snow, etc. ).
