PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF DISTRIBUTED COMPUTER SYSTEMS.

Consideration of the stochastic modeling of distributed computer systems. Distributed computer systems have been used in two distinct senses and the distinction is of considerable importance: (1) the computer network type of distributed data processing - this is the system level data processing whose architecture is communications oriented; (2) the generalized multiprocessor type of distributed architecture - this is distributing the processes and processor functions at a single node or geographic site of a system. An examination is made of the computer network type of distributed systems. Various network protocols via random access channels are considered and new protocols via random access channels are also proposed and evaluated.
