By analyzing the working forces on blocks, rings and axial forces on pulleys of the metal pushing V-belt during torque transmitting, formulas for calculating the working forces and the axial forces on pulleys are deduced, and the method for deciding the minimal axial forces on pulleys is established. According to the calculating results of the working forces and the axial forces on pulleys under different working conditions, the rule of the load distribution between blocks and rings is got. The research results can be used for strength design and the hydraulic system control of CVT gearbox.
