摘要
The effects of manganese, sulfur, and oxygen in steel sheet on rusting and the properties of phosphate coatings were investigated on sheet of high purity iron and rimming steel to which controlled amounts of these elements had been added. It was found that the rate of rusting increases substantially with increase of precipitated MnS and MnO, and the ability to form protective phosphate films increases with increase of total manganese content. Explanations are suggested.
