Increase in prices for iron ore and fuel is observed. In connection with this, part of iron ore and fuel should be replaced by waste materials. Utilization of metallurgical slimes has been considered. Chemical composition of the slime has been presented. Special investigations of the slimes and their utilization at the sintering plants have been performed. Results of the investigations make it possible to determine regularities in production of sinter with the use of the slimes. Rational parameters of process of manufacturing the sinter have been determined. Slimes formed during steel production and cast iron smelting are utilized during manufacturing the sinter.
