摘要
Reinforcement is provided in concrete structures mainly to resist tensile forces. Correct detailing should take into account the tensile stress trajectories and at the same time should not be too complicated. The principles and requirements of good detailing and the correct practice of detailing for typical structural elements are briefly discussed in the paper, presented in three parts. Some typical examples of poor detailing are also indicated. The material presented here is based on the analytical and experimental results reported from various countries. The first part of the paper presented here deals with the general principles and detailing in slabs and beams, while the second part discusses detailing in corbels, frame corners and interconnected beams. The last part of the paper deals with the detailing in anchorage zones.
