The effect of the position of the high-pressure nozzle on the operating efficiency of an ejector with a cylindrical mixing chamber and a geometric parameter a equals 22 was investigated experimentally. It was established that the limiting ejector operating modes, which are associated with blocking of the mixing chamber at the exit, are not optimal for all positions of the high-pressure nozzle because of losses in the exit cone. For the investigated ejector, onset of degradation of its operation occurs at those positions of the high-pressure nozzle at which the initial segment of the jet turns out to be completely outside the cylindrical mixing chamber. In the remaining cases no effect of the position of the high-pressure nozzle was detected. A comparison was made of existing methods of computation with the experimental data obtained.
