The Queenex Group started civil engineering works at its board mill in the Mussafah industrial area of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The 250 tonne/day duplex board mill is expected to be located in the vicinity of the group's other manufacturing facilities. Duplex board paper mill (PM) plans to venture into the tissue sector. The group holds a 20% stake in Abu Dhabi National Industries (ADNIP) which is just weeks away from starting production. ADNIP planned to build the mill in Dubai but high energy costs and a shortage of gas supply prompted the change of venue to Abu Dhabi.
