摘要：

The concepts of reliability and availability are defined in unambiguous standard terms. The outage behavior of power plant elements is reduced to different causes. The utilization degree can be determined by different methods. Determination of an outage distribution function presupposes a defined and constant loading. At present the utilization process cannot yet be described analytically. The significance of the findings for the evaluation of damage effects is stressed.
