NC/CNC-grinding has begun to gain acceptance in metalworking industry only in the most recent years. This paper describes in detail the developments in this field and the problems involved in NC/CNC cylindrical grinding, with the attention focused on the interrelationship grinding machine - NC/CNC-control - process technology - economy.
