Description of the design and construction of the largest dome in the world are given. Although design criteria called for a 72,000 seat multipurpose facility suitable for football, baseball, basketball and other small arena events, the prime consideration for the seating configurations was to be football. The criteria also called for 5,000 parking spaces within the stadium complex, and a large-screen television system to allow instant replay of the field action for the stadium spectators.
