An asynchronous-motor CAD system is considered; it improves the efficiency of structural-design efforts in the development of a series of asynchronous motors. The CAD AM system includes the following subsystems: for design of the active section (calculation of active section, electromagnetic check computation, optimization routine), the active-section design program (ASDP); for structural designs (design of overall appearance, thermal ventilation check calculations, calculation of vibration-acoustic characteristics, mechanical calculations for 'shaft-bearings' assembly, calculation of masses of assembly units), structural-design program (SDP); for rendering of production design documentation, design documentation program (DPP).
