INTERACTION BETWEEN DISLOCATIONS AND ALLOYING ELEMENTS IN NIOBIUM-BASE ALLOYS.

摘要
The method of low-frequency amplitude-dependent internal friction was employed to estimate the interaction energy between dislocations and alloying elements in commercial niobium-base alloys with carbide, nitride, and solid solution strengthening. The resultant values are within 1. 15-1. 75 eV, i. e. , much higher than these for unalloyed niobium (0. 3-0. 5 eV). The enhanced interaction between dislocations and interstitial elements is assumed to be produced by zironium. The absence of correlation between the interaction energies and carbon/nitrogen atmospheres condensation temperatures is revealed.
