Acquisition and analysis of data for optimized drilling

Data required to plan, maintain, and appraise drilling programs are discussed, along with the more important aspects of handling the data in applying optimization techniques. As applied to rotary drilling, optimization is gradually being accepted as an important tool in improving drilling efficiency. Optimized drilling programs will become broader in scope and will be applied more extensively as new technology provides better input for the drilling models.
