Gauge Measurement and Control in the Extrusion of Film and Sheet for Thermoforming.

In the manufacture of thermoformed packages, the quality of the film/sheet to be used is gaining increasing importance. This implies the use of suitable gauge measurement and control facilities which, depending on the equipment, scan transverse to the machine direction or, in connection with ancillary equipment, take over plant control operations. The unit STM 15 with pneumatic-electrical gauge measuring system incorporates a feedback controller for the take-off or for the extruder as well as additional functions for an alarm and limiting control (in case of deviations from the specified gauge tolerance) as well as for recording the obtained data.
