摘要
The decomposition of strong ion-exchange resins of the polystyrene type in water at temperatures between 95 and 250 degree C has been studied. Infrared spectra of the hydrothermally-treated resins and of their decomposition products show big differences between anion and cation resins and, for the latter, also between minus (H** plus ) and minus (M** plus ) (M equals alkali metal) ionic forms. The medium in contact with the heated resins becomes very aggressive, particularly so for cation exchange resins. In mixed beds practically no decomposition products are leached-off up to 150 degree C.
