In the past, intermediate electrodes made of flat copper wire as required in the welding lines for tin production, have been treated as scrap after use, chopped and melted. Substantial savings result not only for copper importing countries, if the flat wires are reformed directly into round wire with a small diameter in a vertical drawing plant with connected annealing plant after use as intermediate electrode.
