Recent developments in cathodic deposition have forced progressive finishing engineers to examine the convertibility of anodic systems to cathodic systems. The fundamental differences of the two systems are reviewed from an equipment design aspect. Particular emphasis is placed upon the special design considerations, which could facilitate the future conversion to be made easily and economically. Further, the actual steps of converting a system from anodic to cathodic operation are discussed.
